Pipefitter Apprentice – Charlotte, North Carolina

Position Summary

Design Build Mechanical Inc. is seeking a Pipefitter Apprentice to support commercial mechanical construction projects throughout the Charlotte area. This role assists skilled pipefitters with the installation of HVAC piping systems, equipment, and related mechanical components while developing trade knowledge and hands-on field experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist pipefitters with the installation of chilled water, heating water, condenser water, and refrigerant piping systems.
• Transport, stage, and organize materials, tools, and equipment.
• Measure, cut, thread, and prepare pipe under supervision.
• Support equipment setting, rigging, and installation activities.
• Maintain a safe and organized jobsite.
• Follow all company safety policies and project requirements.
• Learn industry standards, installation practices, and construction procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by field leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous construction experience is helpful but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in physically demanding environments.
• Ability to work from ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and active construction sites.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn a skilled trade.
• Reliable transportation and regular attendance required.

Compensation:

$20 to $28 per hour (DOE)
